Starke "Tracy" Taylor, III, founded the Move It companies in 2013 as a new venture after a four-decade partnership in the storage industry operating under the trade name Watson & Taylor Self Storage. Over forty years, Watson & Taylor acquired and developed multiple asset classes of real estate, including developing, acquiring, operating, and selling self-storage properties. Since its founding, Move It has leveraged institutional memory, industry relationships, and capital sources to grow to manage over 110 locations in Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Move It manages approximately 8.4 million net rentable square feet of storage and 50,000 tenants. The business aims to provide outstanding value and service in the self-storage industry.

Move It Self Storage and its controlled affiliates ("Move It"), retired January 1, 2023. As a result of the retirement, on January 1, 2023, management of the Company's 72 properties in Move It's managed portfolio was transferred to NSA and the Move It brand name and related intellectual property were internalized by the Company. Following the Move It retirement, nearly 800 of the Company's properties are operated by us under corporate brands iStorage, Move It, Northwest, and SecurCare. Our eight PROs operate the remaining properties.
