Truck Rental

Move It Self Storage is proud to partner with our rental truck partners, U-Haul and Penske to provide moving truck and trailer rentals as well as towing materials. Renting your truck through Move It not only saves time, but we have access to the same information any other U-Haul dealer does to make reservations and arrangements, turning everything into single, seamless experience for you.

Simply stop by or call your nearest location and we can provide a price quote – whether you’re moving across town or across the country. And when you’re finished with your move, you can drop the truck or trailer off at any U-Haul or Penske dealer within your zip code.

If Move It doesn’t have the truck you need, we can tell you exactly where you can get it – which likely won’t be far. That’s because U-Haul and Penske neighborhood dealers are typically within three to five miles of each other. And even if you’re not renting a self-storage unit with us, we’re still happy to help with a moving truck rental.

Here are some additional tips when it comes to renting a moving truck with Move It:

1. Reserve Your Moving Truck Ahead of Time

We always suggest reserving a truck about one to two weeks before your move. Moving trucks are often in high demand, especially during peak moving months. That’s why it’s better to avoid the hassle of tracking a truck down by reserving the size you need on the days you need it. If you know you’ll need a truck last minute, try to plan for a move on a weekday instead of a weekend, as there will likely be more availability during the week.

2. Let Us Help With Sizing

Just like our storage units, our moving trucks come in all shapes in sizes – anything from a 10-foot box truck all the way to a 26-foot truck. However, choosing the right size can be tricky, since you don’t want to over or under estimate. At Move It, we’ll work with you to pinpoint the size of moving truck you’ll need.

3. Time is Money

If you’re hesitating on renting a moving truck, I always emphasize that time is money. Yes, you can make several trips with your own vehicles, but why drag out the moving process when you can rent a truck for a great price and knock it out in one trip?

4. Have a Plan B

Because there are so many variables involved with moving and renting a truck, we always stress to customers to have a Plan B in place. A stressful situation can be averted by coming up with a backup plan ahead of time.

Beyond Just Moving

Often people think moving supplies and moving truck rentals can only be used for just that – moving. However, there are several other uses for moving supplies you can take advantage of. Even if you’re not moving or renting a storage unit, our moving supplies and trucks are available for your use.

At many of our locations, businesses take advantage of our moving supplies and moving trucks to help with supplies and extra inventory. We also have a variety of groups who use our supplies to ship items and containers to other parts of the country and even the world.

Whether you’re shipping a lot or even just one item, stop by your nearest Move It location and we’ll be more than happy to help.
